Boat Insurance: What is Personal Possessions and Money cover?
This option can provide cover for your or your immediate family’s Personal Possessions while they are away from the vessel.
Higher value items can be insured for a specific value, while you can select a lump sum up to £3,000 to cover your other, everyday possessions while away from the boat. You can even add cover for up to £500 for Money, and this will also cover money kept on the vessel. Claims under the Personal Possession section will be subject to the contents excess you select.
There are various exclusions which apply to this option, such as there being no cover for loss or damage to business equipment, or for theft of an unattended bike unless it is securely locked to an immovable object.
This option is only available if you have also selected the ‘Houseboat Contents’ option.
